JULY 22, 2008 MEETING MINUTES
The meeting called to order at 7:10 by Don Baltrusis. President, VP, Treasurer, Secretary along with 24 members and 2 guests in attendance.
The May meeting minutes were read with no additions or corrections. Stella gave the treasurer’s report: $916.43. Money was deducted to pay for newsletter printing. $600 brought in on advertising.
POLICE REPORT
Officer Merritt introduced Officer Parker and announced that Officer Joe Troung now moved to Burglaries division – no longer our CSO. Officer Merritt detailed crime report for the last month. Of note: 5 burglaries, 4 out of 5 came through windows. No arrests made. 2 commercial burglaries, 3 aggravated assaults, 2 drug investigations, 2 car burglaries.
Neil Beardsley and Maria Ferraro host a Saturday morning coffee social. Come out and sample a few different coffee's and meet some neighbors. Coffee, donuts and bagels will be served.
Fiber-Optic network upgrades scheduled for Euclid Heights
Our community has been identified as a candidate for Verizon's state of the art Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) deployment project. In the upcoming weeks/months, Verizon wil lbe working in our area to accomplish general network upgrades that involve overlaying portions of copper facilities with fiber-optic cables. These upgrades will enhance network reliability, improve service quality and enable Verizon to offer our community the most advanced communications and entertainment service otions available today and in the future.
