March Meeting Minutes

EHNA March Meeting Minutes
3/23/10

7:06 meeting called to order, 6 people attending

Crime Report:
Officer J. Deary reported about the vandalism of the trees in our green space. When the trees were originally planted, the city paid for the trees but a volunteer organization planted the trees. The trees were cut off at the roots and left at the scene. From the appearance of the vandalism, it was probably an adult who committed the crime. It has not been determined who is responsible.

There were a few commercial burglaries at Walgreens, Circle K, and a few auto burglaries.

At the last meeting the balance was $811, checks were issued for yard sale flyers and the permit for the green space. The account received income from neighborhood association memberships and yard sale reservations bringing the new balance to $1002.83.

Add email addresses of new members to master email list.

Yard Sale:
The yard sale was considered very successful by all. Stella’s vendor friends would love to be involved in any future ones. We had 20 vendors and after expenses earned $100. Some people who live across 9th St expressed interest in being vendors.

A few suggestions/notes for next time:
parking only on one side of road for safety reasons

Meeting started at 705pm.

Crime Report:

Officery J. Deary described “neighborhood gang”, the teenager in charge is 5’8” and muscular. They are mainly causing a nuisance by standing in the road in front of cars, etc. The activities are also making the kids stay away from the playground. The police can give them a citation if he sees them blocking the road from cars. There was a call made today for kids wandering the neighborhood. There have been a couple burglaries, police patrolling the area for guns fired in the air.
